Ten things not to miss at Bristol Burlesque Festival 2019

By Tuesday Laveau  Wednesday Aug 21, 2019

As the Bristol Burlesque Festival returns for its seventh year, organiser Tuesday Lavaeu counts down the best ten things happening over the weekend of September 19-21:

10. The Bristol Improv Theatre (BIT)

We are so excited to be back at this innovative, visionary venue. Formerly The Polish Club, the BIT has gone from strength to strength since its remodel. The BIT’s mission is to “be an institution of spontaneous, collaborative, and creative theatre, a resource for ambitious artists and audiences”, making it the perfect place for our badass burlesque show.

9. Pink Kitten Dance School

The Pink Kittens are back for our 2019 show and we couldn’t be happier. They have supported Bristol Burlesque Festival since our inception in 2013 and we are honoured to have this women-owned, Bristol based business with us again for our seventh year. Catch them in the bar doing pole tricks and be sure to talk to them about signing up for a pole, aerial hoop or burlesque class.

8. DJ Kids From Fridges

Get in the mood for a night of bodacious burlesque and then keep the party going with Leftfield Disco Classics from the New York underground, courtesy of DJ Kids From Fridges.

7. Vendors

Make sure you have some cash in your pocket to snap up some luscious latex fashion, queer art or even book a boudoir photo shoot.

6. Cocktails

Be sure to enjoy one of our delicious, bespoke cocktails from a menu curated by our sponsors, Licor 43, and inspired by our burlesque dancers. They’re sure to put the motion in your ocean and the swing in your thing.

5. Dis Charge

If you haven’t heard of this globe trotting Bristol drag legend, where have you been? Mistress of Ceremonies, Monster of Drag, Queen of the Creeple, it wouldn’t be Bristol Burlesque Festival without them!

4. International starlets and homegrown talent

We have picked the raddest Renegade Strippers from across the globe to give you a show to raise the roof. Performers this year are hailing from USA, Finland, Switzerland, Australia, Germany, Philippines and more.

But we wouldn’t be the show we are without some hot, homegrown talent. Fill yourself with Bristol pride and enjoy our badass Bristol burlesque babes too.

3. Symoné

Symoné is an electric and elastic performer whose incredible flare and enticing mixture of skills as a cabaret and circus based artist will blow your minds. This international superstar is ready to amaze and astound with her award winning, record breaking style.
