Arts, music and more at Fosstonbury 2017
Students at New Fosseway School are thrilled and excited to be taking part in the unique music festival Fosstonbury.
Taking inspiration from its nearby neighbour, Glastonbury, the event is being held to celebrate Creative Arts Week, and will include a wide variety of activities and entertainment, from a clown workshop run by Bristol Old Vic, to an interactive art workshop with not-for-profit arts organisation AIM.

Visitors are welcome to attend the festival that will take place on the school grounds in Hartcliffe on Thursday, June 15 from 2pm – 5.30pm.
“We are really excited to host Fosstonbury 2017,” said head teacher Shân Wynne-Jones. “The festival will be the culmination of a week of events in school, where our students will be experiencing a variety of art forms through exciting, creative activities.”
Students are busy preparing for the upcoming festival
Fosseway’s school orchestra will also be performing, and Bristol inclusive dance company The Flamingo Chicks will treat audiences to a dance routine.
As well as music, students will be able to participate in dance and drama performances with visiting artists. These can range from a workshop with Miss C’s Graffiti Academy, to a circus workshop.
The festival will conclude with a vibrant carnival to showcase the students’ talents and the work they’ve done throughout the week, with everything from costumes to homemade musical instruments on display.
Students and visiting artists will also join forces to create a sculpture and Fosstonbury banner.
New Fosseway School caters for students aged between six and nineteen who have a wide variety of needs, associated with Severe Learning Difficulties.
