First wave of artists announced for Bristol Pride 2024

By Andy Leake  Monday Apr 1, 2024

Bristol Pride’s annual party on the Downs has announced the first additions to their lineup for 2024.

Pride is a celebration of Bristol’s LGBT+ community, as well as an opportunity to combat rising incidents of hate crimes and anti-queer rhetoric occurring across Bristol and the UK.

Bristol Pride Day, due to take place on July 13, marks the culmination of two weeks of LGBT+ focused events.

The festival will run this year from June 29 until July 14, with events across Bristol. Pride Day, on 13 July, starts with a Pride parade that passes through the city, celebrating the LGBT+ community.

2024 will see RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 and all stars 8 competitor Heidi N Closet take the reins alongside Drag Race UK star Pixie Polite.

The Cabaret Stage will host more than 30 acts this year, featuring drag queens and kings from across the UK.

These esteemed performers include Mary Mac, Lola Lasagne, Son of a Tutu and saxophone-playing drag queen Snow White Trash.

Bristol Pride has also announced artists for its official afterparty, to be held at the 02 Academy. The party involves three rooms of DJs, performance, aerial displays and dancers, with Australian legends Confidence Man headlining.

Support for the after party is being offered by Bristol’s renowned LGBT+ club night, Don’t Tell Your Mother. Don’t Tell Your Mother is a monthly LGBT+ club night based at the Phoenix pub.

Bristol Pride Day remains a donation entry festival. This is to ensure that it remains financially accessible for attendees to enjoy the celebrations. Many other Pride celebrations, including Manchester Pride, have come under fire for high ticket prices featuring headliners such as Ariana Grande.

Bristol Pride is offering a supporter’s wristband for £9. This offers rewards such as free bus travel to the Downs, discounted bar prices and quick festival access. The wristbands also further support Bristol Pride and help to enable future events.
