Fancy joining a community of people who love festivals and want to give something back? Volunteering with Oxfam is a brilliant way to experience festivals in the region, while also helping to fight poverty around the world.

·         NASS Festival, 4th-7th July, Bath & West Showground (Dizzee Rascal, Run DMC)

·         Womad Festival, 25th-30th July, Malmesbury (World Music)

Volunteering at festivals: how it works…

You will be asked to complete just one 8 1/4 hour shift for St Paul’s, x2 8 1/4 hour shifts for NASS and x3 8 1/4 hour shifts for WOMAD, the rest of the time is yours to enjoy the event. As part of the online application process, you’ll be asked to part with a one-off refundable deposit which is equal to the price of the festival ticket. This deposit will be returned four weeks after you have completed your shifts and gives you access to over 20 other festivals this summer, too.

By volunteering your time, you make Oxfam’s life-saving, life-changing work possible – and take us a step closer to beating poverty for good. What are you waiting for?

This year, Oxfam will also be at UK festivals to talk to people about ‘Water For Life’ – campaigning to get clean water running worldwide. Because if everyone had clean water, more people could build futures full of possibility, not poverty. They’ll be asking festival-goers to take part in a really exciting action, too.

Take your #stepsforwater

In Asia and Africa, the average trip for women to collect water takes nearly 8,000 steps – a huge burden that’s trapping them in poverty. So, we’re asking people to take a picture of their feet and post it on social media, tagged #stepsforwater. We’ll then collect together everyone’s steps to show how many of us believe in Water For Life.
