Headliner announced for Bristol Pride 2023

Jake Shears has been announced as the main headline act for 2023’s Bristol Pride.

The former co-lead vocalist of the Scissor Sisters will perform on Saturday, July 8 – with songs including Too Much Music, Everything I’ll Ever Need and Creep City.

Pride Day summer will see thousands crowd into the Downs for music and dance performances following a march through the city centre.

Daryn Carter MBE, director of programming and partnerships, said: “Pride is a very special event and is about creating a space where the community can all come together, be their authentic selves and to maintain and further LGBT+ rights.

He added: “Every year it’s an incredible atmosphere of joy, celebration and protest and Jake’s music speaks to being confident in yourself which will really resonate with so many people attending Pride, it’s going to be a truly special show,” he added.

2022’s event was headlined by Carly Rae Jepsen and saw 40,000 people join come together on the Downs while  20,000 people took part in the parade march,

Bristol Pride will unveil the full festival line up for 2023 over the coming months.
