Valley Fest announces virtual music festival for 2020

With lockdown regulations still in place, the team at Valley Fest will be hosting a free online alternative from their website.

This one-time virtual event  will take place on August 1, from 6pm to 10pm.

This will a live streamed, only available during its broadcasting hours with performances and video messages from artists, including Deacon Blue and The Blockheads as well as musicians and artists like Tropical Tea Party, Junior Jungle and The Allergies.

“We’re absolutely gutted not to be able to be together in person,” said festival founder, Luke Hasell. “We’re doing things a little differently this year.”

Valley Fest will also be bringing the food to their viewers too, with cooking demonstrations from chef Josh Eggleton.

Josh has been leading the Cheers Drive project, a food-aid initiative to  provide meals for homeless and vulnerable people during the coronavirus lockdown.

He also co-created the Breaking Bread pop up restaurant which offers socially distanced outdoor seating at the bottom of Clifton Down.

Award winning chef and climate activist Tom Hunt will be making vegan recipes from if new book, Eating for People, Pleasure and Planet.

Tom co-owns the tapas restaurant, Poco and is dedicated to reducing food waste. You can find his writing and recipes on his website, Tom’s Feast.

Children will also be able to get involved, making potato puppets with Valley Fest veterans, 6FootStories.

The 2021 line up will be released during this event, with a one-time ticket offer of £125 plus booking for adult weekend tickets.

The festival will be available to view from the Valley Fest website.
