“I first attended Cake International three years ago. I was overwhelmed and mesmerised, I just knew I had to try and win an award here. For us cake designers it’s a huge deal,” says Georgiana, who has won an additional three awards at the competition in the past two years.

Georgiana’s wedding cakes are becoming extremely popular across Somerset
At 2019’s competition, Georgiana won a Bronze and Gold award, as well as receiving the Second Best in Class prize out of a supplementary selection of Gold prizes.
Georgiana’s passion for cake making began after the birth of her daughter. She had completed a Psychology degree in Romania but wanted a career which would enable her to look after the daughter at home.
“I’ve developed a really great client list,” says Georgiana. “As I’m completely self-taught, its amazing how many people want me to make cakes for them. I’ve even had someone change the date of their wedding just so I was available to make their cake!”

All of Georgiana’s cakes are made with free-range, high quality, local ingredients and she hopes that her new awards will inspire other cake makers to continue to expand their skills.
“It’s been absolutely mesmerising,” says Georgiana. “I feel like the sky is the limit now. I can’t wait to see what the future holds, I’m always open to new opportunities.”
