A guide to batch cooking at Library of Things

By Karen Johnson  Tuesday Oct 22, 2024

Students can put a full stop to their budgeting woes, as a community kitchen brings its ‘batch cooking’ classes to Bedminster.

After their launch session on October 2, Batch Cook Club will now run monthly sessions to teach university students to “level up their culinary game without emptying” their pockets.

The sessions will take place in Share Bristol’s store on East Street, on one Wednesday every month till March 2025.

The next session in November will have student making a healthy quinoa bowl

A spokesperson from Batch Cook Club said: “We’re running monthly fun and friendly cooking sessions for students (18-24yr olds) including a social meal and a meal to take home at Bedminster Community Hub at the Share Bristol shop on East Street, BS3.”

At the sessions, students can expect to “cook delicious and nutritious meals; eat with new people; save time and money by batch cooking and repeat the fun every month”.

Their next session on November 6, will teach students to cook a “boujee” pesto quinoa bowl with all ingredients being supplied, a meal to share and a meal to take home.

All university students are welcome and can secure their spot for a booking fee of £5.
