Artisan bakery to move base

By Karen Johnson  Tuesday Nov 5, 2024

Lovers of an artisan bakery will soon be queuing up at a new address.

Forest Bakery is moving bases to Oxford Street just a short walk from their former Silverthorne Lane home in St Philip’s.

Couple James and Sarah Conway-Dyer established the bakery in 2019 and have ever since whipped up delicious bakery products for Bristol from their kitchen.

They said: “We’ve picked up the keys to our new unit just up the road on Oxford Street and we can’t wait to get in and start baking!

“We’ll be in well before Christmas and have lots of exciting things planned so make sure you pop by and say hi.”

The bakery is moving to what was originally the Future Doughnuts kitchen on Oxford Street.

The doughnut shop that opened in September 2021, had to prematurely close doors after “a bunch of debt”. The Future Doughnuts team sold off much of their furniture before they said their final goodbyes in July 2023.

The space has ever since been empty but will now be the new home for Forest Bakery’s delicious goodies.

While an opening date is yet to be confirmed, the bakery team hopes to open before Christmas to keep up with the holiday season rush.
