Award-winning bistro opens new bar
Bristol’s nightlife has received a well-deserved boost, with an award-winning bistro opening an independent bar in the heart of the city.
Most foodies in Bristol were taken aback when Tare Restaurant in Wapping Wharf, announced their closure in April with an intent to focus on their bistro.
But founder and chef, Matt Hampshire has now returned with a bar that he has called “a fun space that feels like a little home”.
is needed now More than ever
Talking about the new bar that has opened adjacent to their sister bistro, in the Cargo Units at Wapping Wharf Hampshire added: “We wanted to create a fun space that feels a little like home, but with the exceptional quality that you’d expect from Tare and everything we’re known for.

Tare offers a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, to suit everybody’s taste
He continued: “Whether you’re here for a casual catch up with friends or raise a glass to a special occasion, Tare Bar will be the place on the harbour where people can unwind, come together and tuck into something truly different to what else is on offer in the area.”
With a chosen list of wines, signature cocktails, and tipples from local distillers and breweries – Tare Bar focuses on providing “sensational food and drink in a modern yet laid back environment”.
The bar also offers a selection of bar food – like stuffed chicken wings, tempura oyster mushrooms and pork belly skewers – to pair with the drinks.
Tare Bar is open in the evenings from Wednesday to Saturday.
