Award-winning Wapping Wharf shop to close to focus on online and events
An award-winning cider shop in Wapping Wharf is to close in order to refocus on its online and events business.
Bristol Cider Shop‘s tastings will now take place in a variety of venues across the city and further afield, with the shop’s popular annual cider festival returning in May 2020.
Squeezed will be moving into the shop’s current home in Cargo 1, expanding from smaller premises in nearby Cargo 2.

Twice named the UK’s Independent Cider Retailer of the Year, Bristol Cider Shop opened in 2010 on Christmas Steps and moved to Wapping Wharf in 2016. Its last day of trading in the shop will be December 28.
Owner Pete Snowman will be holding a series of collaborative events at Wapping Wharf in the new year including a cider dinner at Box-E, a cider and raclette night with The Bristol Cheesemonger, and a cider and burger night with Squeezed.

Pete said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back into running events, which to be honest is my favourite part of the business and what we do best.
“It will be a bit sad to be closing the shop after nine years but it just makes so much more sense for a business as specialist as ours to be online.
“We love being part of the Cargo community so we’re really chuffed to be working with our friends here on some of our new events. It will be like we never left!”
