Bertha’s to start selling frozen pizzas
The co-founder of Bertha’s Pizza promises the “full restaurant product” when their frozen pizzas go on sale.
Graham Faragher and his team at the restaurant in Wapping Wharf have been working behind the scenes for months to perfect a pizza that is first cooked in their own oven, then cooled down, frozen and vacuum-packed.
“It’s the same pizza and I’m so proud of this,” says Graham.
is needed now More than ever

Bertha’s frozen pizzas will soon be going on sale in shops including Five Acre Farm Shop on North Street and Papadeli in Clifton.
There will initially be four flavours made up of two meat and two vegetarian options: margherita, meat & heat, hamageddon and Napoli; with more of Bertha’s quirkier toppings set to be introduced in the future.

Being such a pizza perfectionist, Graham has never been a particularly strong advocate of selling Bertha’s pizzas via delivery platforms.
But needs must and the move into frozen pizzas has come about because former F1 engineer Graham admits the model in hospitality “is largely broken”.
Frozen pizzas will be another income stream for the business with almost 500 set to be made each week on the days that the restaurant at the top of Gaol Ferry Steps is closed.
“It’s very exciting for us and from a customer perspective,” Graham told Bristol24/7.
“I want it to be recognisable to what is eaten in the restaurant. So people who spend their hard-earned money on one of our frozen pizzas will eat it and it will be a real treat.”
