Bristol bakery named among UK’s most creative coffee shops

By Martin Booth  Monday Sep 16, 2024

A cafe and bakery hidden within two Victorian railway arches has been named as one of the UK’s most creative coffee shops.

Hart’s Bakery won third place in the 2024 Grounds of Innovation Award – “celebrating coffee shops that don’t just serve coffee, but create vibrant, buzzing hubs for their communities”.

Mother Espresso in Liverpool was declared as the most creative coffee shop in the UK, with other trailblazers in the top-ten awarded accolades for innovations including reducing reoffending and supporting female-owned roasteries.

Hart’s Bakery founder, Laura Hart, said: “It’s amazing to be recognised for our creativity and we’re so grateful to be recognised alongside such an incredible cohort of coffee shops across the UK.

“Balancing creativity with the demands of high-capacity work is always a challenge but we strive to find that sweet spot.”
