Bristol restaurant loses Michelin star
Only a few years ago, Bristol was a city that had four Michelin stars. Now we only have one.
Previous losses of stars was due to a variety of factors: Casamia closed and transformed into Casa, the Pony & Trap underwent major renovations to become the Pony Chew Valley, and Wilks relocated from Redland to Bath.
Paco Tapas overlooking Bathurst Basin in Redcliffe is still very much operating but the Michelin inspectors no longer believe that the Spanish tapas restaurant deserves the prestigious star that it has held since 2017.
is needed now More than ever
Bulrush in Cotham retained its star at a ceremony in London on Monday evening, making it now the only restaurant in Bristol with that accolade.
It’s not all bad news for Bristol, however, with the newly opened Clifton pub in Clifton Village awarded a Bib Gourmand: the “good quality, good value cooking” category in the Michelin Guide.
Other restaurants with Bib Gourmands in Bristol are the Blaise Inn, Box-E, COR, Marmo and Root.
