Buy a Christmas hamper and help a family in need
Bristol Food Union have put together a “buy-one, give-one” hamper for Christmas to help families who might not be able to afford their own festive feast.
The hampers will be made with produce from a number of Bristol independent food and drink businesses, including wines from Averys, coffee from Extract, chutney from Bishopston Supper Club and Bristol beers matched to farmhouse cheeses by Two Belly.
When purchasing a hamper, customers will be asked if they want to add a provisions hamper for a family who might be struggling so that the Bristol Food Union team can deliver as many as possible to Bristol households in the week before Christmas.
is needed now More than ever
“We wanted to support Bristol’s independent food businesses and provide Christmas provisions to families that need them. We’ve devised a delicious way that you can help,” said Bristol Food Union’s Alison Clarkson.
“We’ve teamed up with our city’s independent food and drink producers to create a range of delicious Bristol Food boxes.
“Filled with tempting treats from Bristol’s best local producers, each item has been handpicked by us to bring you a truly festive taste of our city.”
The Bristol Food boxes come in sweet or savoury boxes at £35 or £55. Head to www.bristolfoodunion.org/hohoho to order for delivery in December.
Bristol Food Union will produce as many ‘Give One’ boxes as donations allow, producing these hampers from their base at Ashton Gate Stadium in the week before Christmas.
This Christmas hamper campaign has been organised in collaboration with local children’s charity Unique Voice, with ten per cent of all profits from the hampers supporting their work with excluded and vulnerable children.
