Cantonese and Dim Sum restaurant opening in Bristol city centre

A new restaurant specialising in Cantonese cuisine and Dim Sum is set to open in a former fish and chip shop in Bristol city centre.

168 Kitchen will take over from Catch 22, which closed in August last year after eight years.

The restaurant will serve freshly-made dim sum, roasted duck and authentic Cantonese cuisine, alongside seafood dishes.

The new restaurant on Park Street is owned by George Lai, who also owns 168 Oriental, an Asian supermarket and Little China Town on Nelson Street, which operates dim sum restaurant Sai Kung Cafe on the same road.

168 Kitchen is part of a number of works being undertaken by George Lai to convert the Little Chinatown site into a new oriental fishmongers and butchers.

Plans for a new Chinese bakery, Hotpot, and live seafood are also in the works.

168 Kitchen is due to open in late February to early March.
