City centre pub named best in the UK
For a pub chain that is so ubiquitous in London, it is often a surprise to learn that Fuller’s only operates two pubs in Bristol.
One of these has been named as the best city pub in Fuller’s pub of the year competition.
The Old Fish Market is run by manager Richard Bower, who has won a £2,000 holiday voucher, a staff party and an engraved plaque for the pub on Baldwin Street.

Fuller’s chairman, Michael Turner, said: “The Old Fish Market is a prime example of a great pub that offers variety to all, but always at the highest standard.
“It’s a melting pot of sports enthusiasts, cask ale drinkers, craft beer fans, Bristol’s young student population, and the city’s professionals. Richard and his team have created a fun, warm and comfortable atmosphere for all to enjoy.”
As well as the Old Fish Market, the other Fuller’s pub in Bristol is the Cambridge Arms in Redland; with the Windmill in Portishead also owned by the west London brewery.
