The Crafty Egg to open third site

By Milan Perera  Monday Jul 29, 2024

The Crafty Egg, who started their food and drink journey back in 2016, have built up scores of loyal customers over the years. It is not unusual to see long queues outside their founder cafe on Stokes Croft.

Now the cafe group have announced the opening of at third site in St George.

A former Wetherspoons pub in the St George’s Hall building on Church Road, which has been closed since 2021, is the site for the new development.

The group said: “We adore the space and are confident the Church Road community will too.”

The Crafty Egg group describe their cafes as not just providing “delicious food but also a warm and inviting space for friends and families to come together. We focus on creating memorable experiences, where you can unwind, connect, and savour the simple joys of life.”

Their development agreement covers the front half of the pub, excluding the old cinema section, beer cellars, kitchens, utilities, bathrooms, and rear customer areas.

The group has given its blessing for and pledged assistance to future investors and developers that might want to restore the St George’s Hall cinema back to its former glory.

Meanwhile, they are excited for what’s to come.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to bring new life to this space after searching for a suitable location on Church Road for many years,” they said.

“We believe the Crafty Egg will be a perfect addition and are determined to make it a bustling local hub once again.”

With this new cafe at 203-207 Church Road, the Crafty Egg is set to replicate previous successes at their Stokes Croft and Fishponds locations.
