Cricket-themed sports bar opening in Bristol

By Martin Booth  Thursday Aug 22, 2024

Sixes promise to “reimagine the thrill of bat and ball for the modern socialite”.

The cricket-themed sports bar, which already has more than a dozen locations across England from Westfield to Watford, could soon be opening in Bristol for the first time.

It’s no longer sufficient these days for a new bar on the harbourside or city centre just to serve drinks: they all need a gimmick. And for Sixes, that is cricket.

The unique selling point at Sixes is a batting challenge “powered by world class sports technology that tests hand eye skill, upper body reflexes, power and speed”.

No previous cricketing experience is necessary as “guests cheer from the side of the nets whilst enjoying craft cocktails, beers, epic beats and delicious shareable plates whilst keeping their eyes firmly on the scoreboards”.

Sixes’ first location in Bristol is likely to be above Coyote Ugly on Bordeaux Quay.

A licencing application reveals that the bar could open as late as 2am from Thursday to Saturday.
