French bistro to open in east Bristol
A new French bistro is opening in Easton on Wednesday.
The Baffled King is set to open on Chelsea Street, in what was once Pipal Tree.
Basing their name on the Leonard Cohen lyric, owners Howard Brewer and Campbell Craig are Easton locals who hope to transform their local spot into a beacon of classical French cooking.
is needed now More than ever
The pair are joined by head chef Peter Laurenson, a mutual lover of French cuisine who previously trained in Paris’ Hyatt Regency.
Howard and Campbell plan to cater to morning commuters, as well as lunchtime and evening diners.
Serving freshly brewed coffee and authentic French croissants in the morning, before transitioning to small plates in the afternoon and evenings, the bistro is set to cover all culinary bases.

As part of their commitment to French cuisine, the Baffled King will be also sourcing French wines from Bristol-based producers such as Avery and No. 12 Easton.
Diners visiting the restaurant will be able to choose from a selection of carefully crafted dishes, all incorporating seasonally picked produce local to Bristol.
