Gail’s open their first bakery and cafe in Bristol
A bakery with more than 100 sites across the UK has opened in Bristol for the first time.
Gail’s has opened in a former hairdressers in Clifton Village, with the queue almost spilling out of the door on the first day of opening on Thursday morning.
It’s a corner of Bristol not short of baked goods from many proudly independent businesses, with both Foliage and Bake-A-Licious just a scone’s throw away.

Bakery manager, Jacqueline Lotter-Raines, said: “The team and I are really looking forward to welcoming everyone through our bakery doors…
“You can expect freshly baked sourdough, sweet and savoury bakes, sandwiches and house-blend speciality coffee made with the very best ingredients, some of which are sourced just a few miles away.”
The Gail’s team have chosen two Bristol charities to support: Loaves & Fishes who prepare food parcels in St Paul’s and Feed The Homeless who distribute hot food in St Jude’s.
