‘Golden age glamour’ cocktail bar coming soon

By Betty Woolerton  Friday Feb 17, 2023

Oysters, cocktails and “golden age glamour” will be on offer in Bristol’s latest cocktail bar.

Called Rick’s, a nod to the bar from cinema classic Casablanca, the venue promises to become the go-to waterside spot for after-work drinks and cosy evenings next to the fire indoors.

Highlights of Rick’s signature cocktails include Some Enchanted Evening, featuring Chivas Regal 12-year-old whisky, apricot liqueur, lemon, star anise and Sichuan pepper – a spicy and fresh twist on a classic Whiskey Sour.

Alongside cocktails, there will be a selection of bar bites such including oysters, marinated olives and padrón peppers, as well as local beers and organic, vegan wines. The waterside bar’s decor features wicker lighting features, alcove seating, a fireplace and alfresco terrace.

The Bristol is part of the Irish family-owned hotel group, the Doyle Collection

It is opening inside the Bristol, a hotel on Prince Street, replacing the its former bar, Shore cafe-bar.

General manager of the Bristol Adam Flint said: “We want to transport our guests to a relaxed and exotic spot for a date or a catch-up with friends where they can indulge in a little luxury with an afterwork cocktail or a perfect night out.

“Our expert mixologists have created a selection of cocktails which will be sure to delight – and we can’t wait to welcome the Bristol community and visitors alike to Rick’s to raise a glass to celebrate the good times ahead!”

Rick’s opens on Thursday.
