Indian restaurant transforms East 17’s ‘Stay Another Day’ into ‘Bring Another Tray’
A popular Indian restaurant has released a curry-themed cover version of the East 17 Christmas classic Stay Another Day, amassing praise on social media, with many saying it should be a Christmas number one.
Urban Tandoor’s social media videos, which feature their staff taking part in challenges, dances and customer stories, have garnered a sizeable social media following.
The Indian restaurant, which has locations on Small Street and Whiteladies Road, has 30,000 followers on Tiktok and 14,000 on Instagram.

Their strong social media presence and brightly decorated welcoming restaurant style even earned them the Diners’ Choice award at the 2022 British Curry Awards.
Their latest foray into the musical scene has been met with lots of love, and has quickly become their most viewed video on Tiktok, with more than 92,000 views so far as they transform Stay Another Day into Bring Another Tray.

The East India 17 group don the all white outfits of the original East 17 music video and used fake snow to mirror the aesthetic of the original 1994 Christmas anthem.
“The production on this is mega,” commented one Tiktok user, to which Urban Tandoor replied: “We do our best”.
Lyrics such as “Baby if you want a takeaway/or maybe a sit-down and stay/won’t you bring another tray now” have led to fans dubbing the song “a masterpiece”.
Another fan wrote: “Absolutely amazing, instant classic in my eyes.”
The caption “Would you buy our Christmas single” has left users wondering if the 45 second video will ever be extended.
“Where’s the full version lads?” asked one user.
The East India 17 group – who look suspiciously like Urban Tandoor staff members – have suggested they will consider releasing a full version if the video goes viral.
