By Sydney Vallance  Friday Feb 16, 2024

A Canadian chain specialising in “Japanese soufflé pancakes and desserts” is opening in Bristol in March.

The dessert chain Fluffy Fluffy, popular in North America, will bring its signature Japanese soufflé pancakes to Park Street in what will be the operator’s sixth site in the UK.

The new cafe will serve pancakes featuring classic flavours like Nutella and strawberry alongside flavours like Crème Brulé, Biscoff, Matcha, and Tiramisu.

Fluffy Fluffy recently opened in Liverpool, where they claim to have served over 1,000 pancakes in the first weekend of opening.

According to their website, Fluffy Fluffy’s unique pancake-making process involves whipping egg whites to soft peaks, essential for achieving the pancakes’ airy quality.

Described as “soft, bouncy, and light,” the pancakes promise to “deliver happiness, one pancake at a time”.

Hussein Umar, the UK development lead at Fluffy Fluffy UK, said: “We are over the moon to introduce Fluffy Fluffy’s signature Japanese soufflé pancakes to Bristol.”

Fluffy Fluffy say their pancakes “celebrate the cultural diversity of Canada” carefully infusing “both elements of the East and the West for a tasty, artisanal treat”

The exact opening date and location on Park Street is yet to be confirmed, but the chain has said to “keep an eye out for more updates and official opening dates soon”.

“Park Street is the perfect location for our sixth UK store, and we can’t wait for Bristolians to experience the joy and comfort of our fluffy creations,” Hussein added.

“March 2024 can’t come soon enough, and we look forward to becoming a part of Bristol’s vibrant food scene.”
