Little Bagel Co to open second site
Little Bagel Co. has been one of Bristol’s biggest food and drink success stories of the last few years.
Since opening on Queen’s Road just up from the Clifton Triangle in 2022, the cafe has swiftly become a popular spot throughout the day selling bagels and speciality coffee.
Co-owners Wes Thompson and Tom Drew were not initially looking to open a second location so quickly but jumped at the chance to take on a site on Baldwin Street when it became available.
is needed now More than ever
The new Little Bagel Co. is due to open in mid-March in what was previously Sandwich Sandwich on the ground floor of Pivot+Mark where Baldwin Street becomes Queen Charlotte Street.
It will be between the bigger Sandwich Sandwich and a Pret A Manger in an area of the city centre that already has a plethora of quick lunch options.
But Wes is not unduly concerned about the competition.
“I’m really excited but obviously nervous,” Wes told Bristol24/7.
“We think we offer something really different. We want to go out there and be David against both of those Goliaths.”

Bagels for Baldwin Street will be made in the kitchen downstairs at Queen’s Road and transported by bicycle each day between the two sites.
Wes is also planning some new menu options including fried chicken alongside the Little Bagel Co. classics such as the BEC (bacon, egg and cheese) and the salmon lox.
“The foundations of the growth of the company come from the amazing people who have worked here,” Wes said.
The inside of the new cafe will be a “New York 1970s diner vibe” according to Wes: “What’s the point of owning your own business if you can’t have some fun with the interior design!”
“We’re really excited about it,” Wes added.
“We wanted something different. There’s so much choice down there and we need to stand out.”
