Long-awaited Chinese restaurant opens in Montpelier
After a year of sell-out pop-ups, supper clubs and collaborations, a new Chinese restaurant has opened its doors in Montpelier.
WANGS aims to showcase “the rich flavours and culinary heritage of China” with flavours from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Sichuan, Xinjiang and more.
Head chef Emily Xin Xin Chan – previously head chef at Tare – has curated a menu including handmade dumplings and wontons, Taiwanese fried chicken, fresh noodles and sticky rice bowls.

Vegetarian and vegan options are also available, as well as wines, cocktails and local draught beer to drink at the former fruit and veg shop in Bath Buildings.

“We are thrilled to open our doors in Montpelier,” said Sandy Or, founder and owner of WANGS.
“Our goal is to create a space where the neighbourhood can come together to enjoy delicious, authentic Chinese food and generally have a good time.
“Born in and bred in Hong Kong and being the daughter of a noodle shop owner back home.
“I’m looking forward to serving our neighbours and adding to what already is an amazing food scene in Bristol.”
