New bar to have Bristol’s biggest selection of American whiskey

By Martin Booth  Wednesday Sep 8, 2021

Double Barrel Bar is being opened by the experienced team behind Bristol Distilling Co. and Chomp.

The new bar will have a focus on cocktails and craft beer, as well as boasting the biggest selection of American whiskey in Bristol.

There will be a choice of more than 100 American bourbon and rye whiskeys, with draught beer from local breweries Bristol Beer Factory and Wiper & True.

Bristol Distilling Co’s Double Barrel whiskey – after which the new bar on St Nicholas Street in the Old City is named – will be available from November.

The bar was previously the site of Chomp restaurant and was most recently Bristol Distilling Co. Bar & Diner.

Bristol Distilling Co. founder Jake Black said: “We’ve loved running Chomp at this site for many years but following the pandemic which has been an immensely challenging time for everyone in the hospitality industry, the time was right for a new chapter.

“We’re passionate about creating brilliant drinks and a great customer experience in everything we do and we’re sure that will shine through here.”
