New deli opens under historic railway arches
A new deli has opened in the Dings underneath the railway arches by Temple Meads.
The Dings Deli opened on October 6 serving fresh coffee and a mixture of sweet and savoury treats.
Owner Liz Melville is already greeting return customers despite having only opened on Oxford Street for a week.
is needed now More than ever
She told Bristol24/7: “I haven’t quite learned people’s names yet, but it’s great to see the same faces popping in.
“It’s exciting but also slightly nauseating, opening a new business.”

Liz is from north Devon but has lived in the Dings for the last five years, dreaming up the concept out of frustration of not being able to get cooking ingredients and quality products in the area.
Now, the Dings, which is the area between Barton Hill and Temple Mead, is alive with local businesses.
“We’ve got great neighbours, there’s so many independents here now. Future Doughnuts, Little Marthas and The Pasty Emporium, which is an institution in its own right,” Liz added.
The Dings Deli stocks local products and those from further afield. The beautifully curated shelves are stacked with Pukka tea, Lost Horizon coffee and in the fridge, you’ll find Chew Valley milk. On the deli counter are different flavours of cannoli that have come from Sicily, alongside olives, cheeses and scotch eggs.
It also has a couple of bench tables outside for enjoying hot drinks and snacks.

From beer to bicycles, there is a lot to find within Bristol’s railway arches
