New Jamaican restaurant opening soon

By Martin Booth  Friday Feb 2, 2024

The people behind a new restaurant coming soon to Bristol say they serve the UK’s first gourmet Jamaican fried chicken.

Jamaya, who already have restaurants in Birmingham and Solihull, are planning to open in Bristol in a former ice cream parlour.

As well as the gourmet fried chicken, they promise a “carnival of culture in a restaurant as vibrant as the Jamaican flag”.

“Indulge in our multi-award-winning Jamaican menu, sip on our island inspired cocktails or take a seat at our incredible rum bar and take in the good vibes,” says the Jamaya website.

Jamaya, which hopes to open on Millennium Promenade just off Millennium Square, is not to be confused with Lamaya, a recently opened Lebanese restaurant in Finzels Reach.
