Online Bristol greengrocer aims to go plastic-free
An online Bristol greengrocer hopes to go plastic-free as it closes in on its crowdfunding target that will enable it to grow its fledgling business.
Good Sixty launched in Bristol in 2017 and is already aiming to expand its service into Bath, Cardiff and London later this year.
The business allows people to buy local produce online and have food and drink delivered to their door from independent shops, producers and artisans, which in Bristol include the likes of The Bristol Cheesemonger, Source, Psychopomp and Mark’s Bread.
is needed now More than ever
Good Sixty’s vision is to “help create wealthier, better-connected communities by helping independent food stores, producers and artisans compete and thrive online”.
The independent grocery sector in the UK is worth more than £10bn and Good Sixty’s founders believe there is currently no credible online platform to operate within.
To raise the investment needed to further develop and grow the business, Good Sixty’s crowdfunder is looking to raise £150,000.
More than £112,000 has already been raised since co-founders Chris Edwards and Jon Simon launched the crowdfunder, which finishes on March 28.
The business is currently almost plastic-free but hopes to become 100 per cent plastic-free if the crowdfunding is a success.
