‘Pie for a Pie’ campaign launched

By Marcie Carter  Monday Jun 19, 2017

Bristol business Pieminister have announced the launch of their ‘Pie for a Pie’ campaign. This summer, whenever you buy a pie, they will donate another to UKHarvest, a charity aiming to eliminate food waste and hunger through a network of food redistribution.

As an incentive, Pieminster have also introduced three new pies to try out until the end of August: Mexicow, with a chili con carne filling made from pure British beef; Thai Chook, which blends the vibrant taste of Thai green curry with the classic chicken pie; vegetarian Feta Attraction, filled with feta cheese, spinach, chickpea and squash.

“To help us reach our target, all you have to do is eat pies – it’s that simple!” said Pieminister co-founder Jon Simon. He also added that this will help to “eliminate hunger and food waste in the UK.”

Yvonne Thompson of partners UKHarvest said: “We are thrilled to be working with Pieminister. This campaign will help us to keep feeding thousands of people in need.”

Look out for the yellow ‘Pie for a Pie’ stickers on boxed pies, and in any of the Bristol restaurants. You can also pledge online at: www.pieminister.co.uk/competitions/pieforapie
