Pop-up cafe opens in former garage

By Martin Booth  Thursday Jul 8, 2021

The team behind a food delivery business have opened a pop-up cafe to showcase their wares and their philosophy.

Jubilee Food Hub is “seeking a transformed food system where people get direct access to the finest local and organic produce from the best small-scale farmers and producers”.

The company hopes to grow a “relational” food system, with produce currently available from businesses including Bristol Loaf, Step & Stone and Wiper & True.

Their cafe in a former garage on Ashley Grove Road in St Werburgh’s serves coffee and provisions, with a suntrap outside seating area.

Managing the pop-up is Josh Bowker, who used to own Milk Teeth in St Paul’s and was also one of the founding members of sea shanty sensations The Longest Johns.

The coffee is roasted by Triple Co in Montpelier and the pastries baked by Bakers & Co on Gloucester Road.
