Shots of cannabis on offer in Bristol’s first CBD cafe

By Martin Booth  Monday May 27, 2019

Cannabis-infused coffee will be going on sale at a new cafe on Whiteladies Road.

Cannabidiol, known as CBD, is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, which will be added to the coffee at Mary Jane’s like a shot of syrup.

Mary Jane’s is due to open on Friday in the site previously occupied by Pintxo and before that Polpo. Before those two short-lived restaurants, it was for many years Greek taverna Entelia.

Mary Jane’s founder Jon Antoniou said: “Having tried various CBD products on the market I felt that there must be a better way to take it daily than on its own.

“CBD tends to have a really earthy taste which frankly isn’t very appetising but infused with a Mary-Jane’s coffee it tastes amazing!”

Smoothies and milkshakes at the new cafe will also be infused with CBD.
