The best pubs in Bristol according to the Good Pub Guide 2021

By Bristol24/7  Sunday Sep 12, 2021

A pub with its own model railway line has been named among the best in the UK in the most recent edition of the Good Pub Guide.

The 2021 edition of the prestigious guidebook includes the Highbury Vaults in Kingsdown as among its ‘recommended’ pubs.

A further 40 pubs in Bristol are judged to be ‘worth a visit’ – the second highest honour in the guide which is published annually and promises to be “the only truly independent guide of its kind”.

The Highbury Vaults, a Young’s-owned pub on St Michael’s Hill, is said by the guide to be a “cheerful town pub with up to eight real ales, good reasonably priced food and friendly atmosphere”.

“Its location near the university and excellent choice of changing ales mean a constant stream of cheerful customers for this unpretentious pub.”
