Top city chefs collaborate for fundraiser
One of the city’s most sought-after community kitchens is bringing together Bristol’s top chefs for a one-of-its-kind culinary experience.
For their ‘Winter Feast’, the MAZI kitchen is inviting some city chefs to whip up a delicious feast in their new Bedminster kitchen while raising funds for their MAZI Project.
Pash Peters from Lido in Clifton, Perewho Bin from Sonny Stores in Southville, Micky from Two Trees Catering and Sam Sohn-Rethel from Mevalco will be cooking up a Mediterranean feast for diners that evening.

Money raised will be used by the community kitchen to fund their project that aids the nourishment of marginalised youth aged between 16 – 25.
The MAZI kitchen moved to a new premises in Bedminster in September, when they also shared their hope to be able to raise the number of boxes they distribute each week to 160 by the end of 2024.
Speaking to Bristol24/7 during the opening, founder of the community kitchen Melanie Vaxevanakis said: “It feels like more and more young people are not just looking for food.
“The people who are referred to us, more than 65 per cent are looking for ways to eat healthier and to eat fresh ingredients because they don’t have access to that.
“I think the cost of living crisis and prices increasing, with benefits not being in-line with inflation, it’s causing so many vulnerable people to have to skip meals, to go deeper into mental health issues.”
The collaborative fundraiser will take place on December 27, amidst the holiday season.
