Wapping Wharf to host end of summer celebrations
After the success of the previous iteration, Wapping Wharf is gearing up for another instalment of its after-summer party.
It is almost a year to the day since Wapping Wharf threw a hugely successful bridge reopening party, celebrating the long-awaited opening of Gaol Ferry Bridge.
This year, they will host an evening of free, family-friendly entertainment on September 6.
is needed now More than ever
Drumming troupe Batala Bristol will kick off the celebrations, with more music from local favourites The Ambling Band later in the evening.
There will be face painting and walkabout entertainment, and many of the independent retailers will be opening late for shopping and refreshments.
Speaking about the celebrations, Stuart Hatton, managing director of Umberslade – the company behind the Wapping Wharf development – said: “Last year’s celebrations to mark the reopening of the bridge were such a huge success that we’ve been talking about hosting another one ever since.
“We had so much incredible feedback, along with people asking when the next event at Wapping Wharf would be, that we figured it was about time for another party!”

He added: “Wapping Wharf is home to such an incredible community of independent businesses, and with a lot of new additions to our group of retailers over the last year, we wanted to celebrate everything that makes our area of Bristol so special, and offer a bit of a thank you to all of our customers who have supported us over the years.”
Celebrations will start at 5pm, with entertainment running throughout the evening.
