Private chef to open pop-up restaurant
A new pop-up restaurant is opening on Thursday with an experienced chef behind the stoves.
Self-taught Jon Cholakian is the founder and owner of Gastronomy by Jon and is promising an “exciting small plates menu” at his latest venture.
Dishes will include flash-fried squid, hake fillet with whipped bloody Mary butter, and Asian-style crispy crab and chilli dumplings.

Jon and his team are taking over the kitchen at Dareshack on Wine Street for three nights a week for six months.
After a successful soft launch, service will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 6pm to 10pm.

“Jon has been working around the clock to bring you this exciting small plates menu, and we can’t wait to welcome you to this cool, casual dining space,” says the Gastronomy by Jon website.
“As many of you have come to expect by now, the food will be of a very high quality, using the freshest ingredients. The dishes deliver big, bold, flavour and stylish presentation. Jon’s mantra.
