A-Z Bristol Pub Crawl: Bruhaha, Totterdown
A passing cyclist was extremely grateful for a cycle stand being positioned directly in front of Bruhaha on a recent Saturday evening.
He locked his bike to the solitary stand located within the outside seating area of this bar before heading inside, zig-zagging his way around tables of drinkers before arriving at the bar down a couple of steps to order a half of Wiper & True’s new Kaleidoscope alcohol-free pale ale.
Then it was back outside to enjoy the beer, enjoy the lack of rain and enjoy the fact that his pub bike was safe because it remained almost within touching distance.
is needed now More than ever
On this particular evening, Soul Bowl was providing Middle Eastern sustenance with I Scream Taco’s Mexican street food coming next week.
The Bruhaha team of Simone Dougall, Dave Partridge and Steve England describe their bar on Wells Road in Totterdown as a “brewpub and social space”.
They add: “Our mission is to provide a unique venue that serves the local area and create an ultra sustainable brewery model.”

Bruhaha started as a home brewery in 2019, making beer in their kitchen before becoming a nano-brewery and pop-up taproom a couple of years later at Windmill Hill City Farm, with the taproom there reopening shortly.
After regular pop-ups at Willsbridge Mill and St Anne’s House, Bruhaha opened their first permanent premises in the former Eat Your Greens on Wells Road in October 2023.
There are currently beers available from Bristol breweries including Good Chemistry, Lost & Grounded and On Point, with a weekend lunch deal of a meal from Soul Bowl and drink for £12 between midday and 2pm.
As the sun started to set, it was time for the cyclist to leave, putting his pint down and unlocking his bike in almost the same movement before freewheeling down Wells Road.
