Pub of the Week: The Greenbank
The Greenbank is the kind of pub that sweeps up shivering people, bundled up in scarves and hats, and embraces them into a warm hug.
A visit to this Easton pub is a real escape, whether that’s from the bitter cold outside, the drag of January or the gloom of what 2020 could hold.

Saved by local residents in 2014 and transformed into a community hub owned by Zazu’s Kitchen, the Greenbank is home to a sizeable bar surrounded by plush sofas and booths, a function room on the first floor and a small beer garden.
Local drinks on tap include Dawkins Easton, Wiper and Trye, Cheddar Ales Karst and Ebboriginal, as well as offerings from independent brewers such as Tiny Rebel’s After Party and Animal from XT Brewing.
As well as stellar drinks, the Greenbank also serve a roast on a Sunday and pizza, burgers and kids’ food during the week.

The pub has a real community feel to it, with parents often bringing their children along while they chat and dozens of events each week, including toddler yoga, youth theatre, and comedy for parents and children.
With the pub so open to younger visitors, the Greenbank can feel a little like a creche during afternoons, but from evening onwards, expect minimal children, a friendly smile from the bartender, and a plush sofa to while away the night, while sipping on a locally-brewed ale.
