Japanese shop and sushi bar opens
A new shop selling freshly made sushi, cooking ingredients and equipment has opened in Wapping Wharf.
Seven Lucky Gods sushi bar, run by the team behind Japanese restaurant Seven Lucky Gods, has opened a stone’s throw away in a single shipping container on Gaol Ferry Steps.
The launch of the shop comes after their recent opening of a branch in Newport Market.

Manager Jim Oakley said the shop will sell “top quality sushi” made by the chefs at Seven Lucky Gods.

The Seven Lucky Gods team say: “We’re working together with top chefs from 7LG to bring you quality sushi made fresh every day, alongside an excellent range of authentic Japanese groceries for you to use at home, as well as gift sets, DIY. sushi making kits and branded T-shirts, hoodies, caps and beanies.
“We’re also, serving up Japanese beers, Saki and quality whiskeys and a range of delicious soft drinks that can be enjoyed in our sunny seating area.”
“Alongside the already established Seven Lucky Gods restaurant we aim to provide authentic Japanese food and drink for people to enjoy on the go, at home, or in the vibrant and lively Wapping Wharf surroundings.”
