School bus transformed by Bristol’s newest street food vendors
Marinated free range chicken and halloumi fries are among the current menu options at Fat Dads Kitchen.
The team are hard to miss, serving from ‘Betty’ – a converted US school bus that has repainted by Bristol graffiti artist Cheo.
Their pitch is close to the cenotaph in an area that was once known as Magpie Park.

Everything served by Fat Dads Kitchen is made from scratch, with suppliers including Abbots Leigh Dairy, Buxton butchers, Hugo’s greengrocers and Sweetmart.
Opening times are currently 11am to 4pm and 5pm to 7pm, with the menu due to regularly change.

Like Bristol24/7, Fat Dads Kitchen operates as a community interest company (CIC), a special type of limited company which exists to benefit the community rather than private shareholders.
The aim of Fat Dads Kitchen’s CIC arm is to help tackle food insecurity and work with vulnerable groups in Bristol.
