14 things to do in Bristol this weekend – March 16-18 2018

Bristol hosts two big festivals this weekend, setting the tone as we jump and jive towards the summer season. Firstly, the Jazz & Blues Festival continues, coming to a crescendo on Sunday night with final act of the festival, the Lee Konitz Quartet. Drop into Colston Hall throughout the weekend to see what else is on.

Elsewhere, some of the best journalists, writers and academics from around the country – who just happen to be female – will flood the city for the Women’s Literature Festival, with a packed programme of talks, debates and activities from the likes of Samira Ahmed, Nimco Ali, Meena Kandasamy and Professor Helen Taylor.

It’s also a weekend for technological firsts, as Bristol hosts the world’s first public 5G experience. Head down to Millennium Square and We The Curious any time over the weekend to explore the future potential of next-generation wireless connectivity and see spectacular 3D-like projections.
