15 things to do in Bristol this weekend – December 1-3 2017

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! As we slide face-first down the luge that is December while carols play at warp-speed, have a breather this weekend with some much-needed rest and relaxation.

Tickle your funny bone with Nathan Caton on Saturday, catch the marvellous new production of Beauty and the Beast at Tobacco Factory on its opening weekend, or see the 165 Annual Open Exhibition at the RWA on its very last day.

If you’ve already got the tree up and you’re in full novelty jumper mode, then embrace all that is festive with some great Christmassy events to get you into the spirit. Shop for gifts at the Bristol Makers’ pop-up shop, head over to Colston Hall to listen to the Royal Marines Band playing classic carols, and drop in on the Wapping Wharf Christmas party.

Crown the weekend off with a screening of Love Actually, accompanied by a live score. “But for now, let me say – without hope or agenda – just because it’s Christmas, and at Christmas you tell the truth: to me, you are perfect…”
