November 2: Dr Meaker Launch Party, Trinity Centre
Local legends Dr Meaker will finally drop their much-anticipated third album release next week. Frontman Clive Meaker told Bristol24/7 that Distorted Sun will be “12 tracks of dirt and soul”.
November 2: Hidden Stories of the Christmas Steps
The Invisible Circus takes over the Christmas Steps for a theatrical retelling of the history behind the city’s most famous walkway. They’ll be back for more of the same on December 7.
November 4: Philosophy Salon, St George’s
Bestselling author and philosopher Julian Baggini begins his first of two salons at St George’s in November. The first Salon, titled ‘What Do Politicians Owe Us?’, unpacks the legacy of Edmund Burke MP and explores the nature of democracy today.
November 4-30: Mary Poppins, Hippodrome
The beloved musical is back at the Hippodrome for a month. Audiences can “chim chiminey” along with Australian theatre standouts Stefanie Jones and Jack Chambers.
November 5: Edwin Raphael, Crofters Rights
Indian indie crooner Edwin Raphael is stopping by in Bristol as part of his global tour.
November 5-9: Pitlad Exhibition, Jamaica Street Studios
Pitlad, the famous street photographer, is debuting a new exhibition of his work at Kit Form, the new creative space under Jamaica Street Studios.
November 6: James Wright Historic Building Mythbusting, University of Bristol
James Wright from archaeological consultancy Triskele Heritage is on a book tour after the release of Historic Building Mythbusting – Uncovering Folklore, History and Archaeology. He’ll be at UoB’s Department of Anthropology and Archaeology for a 45 minute talk followed by a Q&A.
November 6-7: Activate Your Soul, The Mount Without
Artists Against War have organised a concert fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders. Featured artists include poet Miles Chambers, singer Alice Human and pianist Jimmy Galvin.
November 7: Limpet + Dan Johnson, St Stephen’s Church
For the sixth time, ‘Relativity: a contemporary music experience’ returns to St Stephen’s. Limpet, a musical project by Giorgio Cortiana and Joe Hall, perform alongside percussionist Dan Johnson while audiences take in light projections designed by Pablo de las Cuevas.

Portland singer-songwriter Sven Gamsky is coming to Bristol.

Artist and performance maker Eve Stainton presents their touring choreographic work, Impact Driver. The event, which will feature live welding, movement, and live sound is scored by Leisha Thomas and Mica Levi. An audio described version of the same event is on the November 21.
November 21: Ashani Lewis, Gloucester Road Books
The award winning author will be at Gloucester Road Books to talk about her new book Winter Animals, which has been described as a “dreamlike, piercing examination of privilege, youth and freedom”. Tickets are on sale through the book shop’s website.
