Bristol gets its first rainbow crossing
Bristol’s first rainbow crossing is due to be officially unveiled on Wednesday.
The colourful crossing on Wine Street close to its junction with Union Street marks the return of Bristol Pride to the city.
Its location is close to where the Pride parade usually begins its journey across the city.

The first rainbow crossing in Bristol follows in the footsteps of Vancouver, Paris and Sydney, with the UK’s first permanent rainbow crossing unveiled in London in 2019.
Daryn Carter and Eve Russell from Bristol Pride will be among those at the unveiling of Bristol’s crossing on Wednesday.
He will be joined by cabinet members Helen Godwin and Asher Craig, and Bristol City Council staff who are LGBTQ+ champions.
