Bristol named one of the world’s best Pride locations
The annual Pride Index has been released for 2019 and Bristol continues to rise through the ranks.
The yearly index names the 50 best places to celebrate Pride throughout the world, and Bristol was one of seven UK cities to make the list, beating both the UK’s largest Prides London and Brighton.
Ranking fourth out of the seven UK cities and 28th overall, the top 50 were chosen based on year-on-year growth, LGBTQ+ nightlife, LGBTQ+-friendly laws, travel connections and affordability of accommodation.

As well as ranking in the top 50 Pride festivals throughout the world, Bristol Pride has also been recognised at the second fast growing Pride worldwide, ranking behind only Philadelphia Pride in the USA.

Bristol Pride has ranked as the fourth best in the UK
Bristol Pride responded by saying: “Wow. Our hearts swell with pride to again be named in the Global Top 50 World Pride events. Moving up two places on last year to 28th place, it’s great to see more UK and EU pride events on the list this year too.
“We are very proud and a big thank you to all our volunteers, performers, supporters, venues and of you that joined us, for again making us one of the best Pride events in the UK.”
This year’s Pride Festival takes place from July 1 – 14 and Pride Day takes place on Saturday, July 13.
