Episode three of the Bristol24/7 Queer Catch-Up: Representation, healthcare, community and more
The third episode of Bristol24/7’s fortnightly podcast, the Queer Catch-Up is now out!
Co-hosts Kit and Lowie dive into some of the newest LGBTQ+ stories on Bristol24/7 and spend some time discussing mental health in the queer community with Jack Willis from Changes Bristol.
Kit will, as always, give a run-down of LGBTQ+ news in Bristol, the UK and the world to kick off.
is needed now More than ever
Then, Kit and Lowie will spend some time discussing the LGBTQ+ Faces of Bristol project run by Karen Freer.
The pair will speak about queer representation and the importance of visibility, as well as ensuring that the portrayal of LGBTQ+ people isn’t just accurate and widespread, but the importance of all people in the community having a chance to shine.

Kit and Lowie will also speak about Kit’s opinion piece regarding Gender Identity Clinics in more depth. Why isn’t there one in Bristol? Will a Conservative government ever provide more healthcare for transgender people? Will the upcoming census make a difference?
Jack, a project worker from Changes Bristol, will also join Kit and Lowie for a chat. Jack runs the LGBTQ+ peer support group at the mental health charity and the three will cover the importance of queer-specific mental health support and the joy of feeling heard.
Kit and Lowie are always up for a discussion or comments via Twitter (@kitmillion and @lowietrevena) or email (kit@bristol247.com and lowie@bristol247.com) and always want to hear from potential guests.
