Play a part in Talking LGBT+ Bristol
Talking LGBT+ Bristol is a ground breaking project aimed at sharing the rich history of LGBT+ life in Bristol with a wider audience.
This September, we launch our discovery period with many exciting opportunities for individuals, companies and charities to come forward with stories and experiences about LGBT+ life in Bristol.
But we want to delve deeper. To help us find those precious stories, we are looking for a team of volunteers to work alongside the Bristol24/7 team and our film partners, Tusko.
is needed now More than ever
As we begin to unearth the voices and places that encapsulate LGBT+ life, we will document them in video and create a feed of digital content on the Bristol24/7 website. To safeguard people, we will always offer voice overs when capturing stories.
We are also offering an exciting opportunity for one young person to enrol on a film placement. This will be a great opportunity to gain real life experience in film production.
For those with more interest in writing, we are always looking for new contributors.
After 6 months of unearthing stories, we will combine the digital content to form a short film. The finale of the project will be marked with a screening and celebration event ahead of Bristol Pride 2018.
The film will be available on the Bristol24/7 website and shared with schools as an educational resource.
Play a part
If you would like to get involved or contribute to the film, or if you are interested in the film placement, please get in touch with Partnerships Manager Caragh Jones.
In the meantime, please join the conversation using the hashtag #LGBT247.
This digitally-led campaign comes at a time when the government is championing digital media and how it can help people access culture through its #cultureisdigital project. The aim of the project is to use digital as a tool to help others access and learn about Bristol’s LGBT heritage.
