What to do after Bristol Pride
With a month-long build-up to Bristol Pride, it’s easy to get the post-pride blues after a long weekend of celebrating queer identities.
However, there is no shortage of events in Bristol that celebrate queerness.
Here is our list of queer events for the last two weeks of July, including arts and wellbeing socials, live music, and bustling parties.

ARTS AND WELLBEING:
Monotype Printmaking is an ink printing workshop hosted by ART RATS. The workshop is open to all levels with materials provided. It is an opportunity to meet other queer-identifying individuals and express yourself creatively while learning a new skill. If you take a liking to the event, ART RATS regularly runs similar workshops.

MadStillNess is one of the many immersive events held at 395. It is a session led by professionals that focuses on self-discovery through movement — a great way to get in tune with your body in a laid-back environment. At its core, this is an activity for self-love in a group of like-minded queer people.
Every Tuesday, 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Held at 395, Little Ann Street, BS2 9EB. General tickets are £14; there is also a pay-what-you-can scheme.

Art Club by DONDY SAMUDERA is a recurring event which provides a social space to make art with other queer artists. Initiated by an Indonesian-British artist, the art club serves a diverse group of people. Food and drinks are also on offer to keep you energised during these sessions.
Every Wednesday, 6pm to 11pm. Held at 395, Little Ann Street, BS2 9EB. Reservation required, free entry.
Nature Queerdos: Feminist histories of Mugwort is an outdoor experience near the river Frome, dedicated to nature and foraging. Attendees will learn about queer feminist history and folklore. This immersive experience includes not only foraging, but also traditional tea drinking, and oil-making.
Wednesday, July 17, 5.30pm to 9pm. Held at Eastville Park. Tickets are required on a pay-what-you-can scheme.
LIVE MUSIC:
GRRRL CRUSH: DISCOBOBULATOR’S BIRTHDAY BANGERS. Grrrl Crush is an organisation which “champions women, non-binary and LGBTQ+ humans in music and beyond.” Specialising in disco and house, GRRRL Crush and Discobobulator will take to the stage. They will also be answering questions about their journey as queer artists.
Thursday, July 18, 8pm to 11.30pm. Held at the Gallimaufry, 26-28 Gloucester Road, BS7 8AL. Free entry.
Don’t Stop Queen Now is a tribute act to the legendary band Queen. Freddie Spence from ITV1, will be assuming the role of Freddie Mercury with a dynamic band. Expect Killer Queen, We Will Rock You, Bohemian Rhapsody, and all of your favourite Queen Songs at this rock spectacle.

WendyFest is a six-hour gig featuring seven queer artists, headlined by Wendy Miasma. The event promises to be camp to the max with esoteric sounds, dancing, and fashion. The music will range between different styles, but the main themes are alternative pop and experimental. This is an exposition of the expanse of queer talent that Bristol has to offer.
Saturday, July 27, 4.30pm to 11pm. Held a The Cube, Dove Street South, BS2 8NQ. Tickets required on a pay-what-you-can scheme.
PARTIES
QUEER AS F*CK: Big Summer Party is a cabaret club night with drag queens, cabaret stars, and DJs performing all night to keep customers entertained. After the night ends, an after-party will begin to continue the fun all night long. This is the final ‘QUEER AS F*CK’ party of the summer, so it is guaranteed to be a blowout.

Jessica Jungle Presents: IGBAS All-Stars. Jessica Jungle is a renowned drag queen who works with Slaughterhaus Bristol, a drag collective that hosts regular shows. IGBAS All-Stars is a gripping night that brings together drag performers to compete in fierce lip-sync battles with tantalising prizes.
Sunday, July 28, 7pm to midnight. Held at Strange Brew, 10-12 Fairfax St, BS1 3DB. Tickets from £14.

Fruitea is a kiki function starring Bristol’s most talented queer ballroom dancers. While professionals will be leading the night, anyone can sign up. “Expect voguing, posing, fashion, sexuality and more in a night of queer expression!” The night will be upbeat, vibrant, and feisty – prepare to be swept off your feet (literally).
