Electric bike shop closes due to ‘challenging trading times’

By Martin Booth  Sunday Jan 26, 2025

A Bristol bike shop has closed after 18 years blaming “challenging trading times”.

Atmosphere on St George’s Road was a trailblazer in the retail and servicing of electric bikes long before they became commonplace.

But the shop close to the bottom of Jacob’s Wells Road has now ceased trading, with a liquidation sale due to take place on February 1 and 2 from midday to 4pm.

The sale will see e-bikes “at massive discounts” as well as helmets, locks and other accessories all reduced to clear

Workshop tools and equipment and service parts will also be for sale.

A notice in the shop window says: “To all our customers: Atmosphere Electric Bikes Ltd has now ceased trading due to challenging trading times.

“The difficult decision to take this step has been forced upon us after 18 years in business.

“We would like to thank all our customers for your support.”
